Default Naked Club Car 48v - Project?

I got a nice toy today, I bought a 48V club car from a guy who was going to convert it into some sort of art car for the Burning Man festival and gave up.
I was looking for parts for a 1970's Harley 3 wheeler and came across this thing for $200. Has the charger and all the electrical parts but no bodywork.
I am not sure where to go with it next. One thing is for sure, the old Harley is going away and I'm going to play with the Club Car.
1) Anyone know where the serial number is supposed to be? I have no idea what year or model it is. If it's on the body then I guess I am out of luck, that's long gone.
2) There is a box that has something to do with the charger, has several wires on it that have been cut. What is it?
3) Where can I find a complete used body for cheap?

I can't wait to get working on it, this is going to be fun. My in-laws have a place on a golf course and a couple of stock carts. Once I get it running, I am going with lift and tires, controller and cables than maybe a motor...

The serial # is on the floor under the passenger side glove box... you put your ear on the floor and you can see it

Post some pics and tell us where you are at? SO Cal? I may have a body. Cheap ~

you are going to have to make a decision regarding that computer, however, if you are not worried about keeping it "stock" then the computer can be removed/bypassed.....

I'm guessing late 90's model based on the fact it has a V-glide in it.

What does the computer do and how do you bypass it? Is it for charge balancing the batteries?
Scotty: I'm located in what you could call SoBC :). A town just North of the US/Canada border called White Rock. I have a warehouse in Blaine WA that I can ship freight to.
I will ping you off site about the body parts.

OK, so I found out about that computer. It supposedly controls charging; tells the charger to turn on and off, controls the solenoid to stop the cart from running while being charged and may have some sort of current sensor that data logs hours, etc.
I have also read that they can fail and cause the charger to overcharge the batteries.
Seems like a waste to me, I hope I can figure out a way to charge the batteries manually or build some sort of automatic shutoff for the charger.

You do not need an OBC... you just need a charger with a brain. Sorry no body parts shipped from here, you should get a better deal locally....any DS body will fit.
There are about 20 years of them out there.

Thanks Scotty. I read about the circuit to let the charger bypass the OBC, I might do that and monitor SOC with a volt meter while I save up for a smart charger.
Any recommendations on an affordable 48V smart charger that is worth buying?
