Default '97 DS Hitch Recommendations

hay! i've got a 1997 CC DS that i would like to add a hitch to ( yard trailer, moving small boat, jetski, etc ). at the moment, i have a rear seat kit that i will eventually be replacing with a cargo bed of some sort.

ohh yea, the aluminum bar between the 2 frame beams has a broken weld. are there hitches available that beef this area up?

advice? recommendations? thanx!

I have a hitch on my 2004 DS that I bought from M&M Golf Cars. I use it to tow a trailer for yard work, landscaping, etc. I also installed an aluminum utility bed at the same time. Both pieces of equipment are very useful. I can't remember exactly how it mounts however I will look tomorrow and take a pic.

Hard to see in the pic, but here is one I installed on my CC before I sold it, you remove the bar and install the hitch, accepts 2" receiver then.

Lost Husker, two questions
1. Where did you get the hitch, who makes it, etc.
2. Was the black top on the cart hotter in the summer time than a lite colored top? I want to go black on my cart, it will match the paint job better, but I'm afraid it will be hot in the TX heat.

Yes the hitch just mounted up with no modifications, both the hitch and bed can be purchased from one of the site sponsors.

The top is a little hotter then a normal one, but I really did not notice it when I was out cruising around. Any shade over my head is good shade

Here are some pics, like I said any sponsor you work with should be able to get this for you.

That hitch is a good one losthusker as I have put a couple of those on.Four bolts and your done.I painted the top on mine which was beige.I painted it with rust-oleum truck bed liner.I sprayed it with plastic primer first. It is very durable.

ScottyB would be a good source for the hitch.... as for that particular bed.... Nivel quit carrying them for some unknown reason, not sure if there is another source for them or not, but they were REALLY nice.

Edit:

You will need to get that broken weld repaired, the hitch will put strain on that particular area of the frame.
