Which Fuse

2004 36 Volt Club Car (I think it's a DS). She washed the cart and now the charger won't turn on. Tried a known good charger and it don't turn on either. I feel like water probably got in the receptacle and shorted, causing a fuse to blow. My question is, I believe there is an 80 AMP fuse on the back of the receptacle and a 10 AMP mounted above it. I haven't been to the cart to check them with a volt meter. I was hoping you guys could tell me the most likely fuse it would be so I can have one picked up and brought to me before the holidays. Nearest cart dealer is 60 miles and I think it has to come from a cart place. If it matters, the cart runs fine and the rear buzzer still works. I think the buzzer comes off of the 10 Amp fuse.

your gonna have to get the one on top of receptical at a cart place...as for which one it is that might be blown?????? take the 10 amp with you and if you can solder i have seen guys use solder to make the connection at that receptical fuse until they could get one ....on older carts never seen it on a 2004.............or you could have one overnighted but you know what thats gonna cost...........................

I find that the micro switch on back of F&R control will short out and if you use hair dryer your problem may be solved?

If it's the 80 AMP fuseable link, can it be replaced with a smaller inline fuse? Does it protect the cart or just the charge circuit?

like i said i have seen guys make them.......don,t seem to be to much there to make you can even use the old parts..........i beleive its just the charge cicuirt with that one....i will be corrected if i,m wrong........................

Now I need to read some more. The receptacle fuse was blown. I spliced it back together and plugged a borrowed charger in. All was well. I unplugged the charger and plugged the charger in that came with the cart that has been working fine. No AC power plugged in, just the DC to the cart cord and the patched fuse popped instantaneously. Something in the charger bad. I just need to find out what.

This is a resistor cart. After reading more, it sounds like I may have a diode in the charger bad. I will check the Lestronic website for test procedure. It's actually an Accupower charger but I believe it is identical to the Lestronic.
