Dead '83? 36-volt electric club car

I have an electric club car, the only identification is A8321 46148. Judging by what I've read so far it may be a 1983 model. It has the v-glide wiper switch and no solenoids for the resistors for the motor. I have left the wiring as I have found them but get no response forward or backwards from the motor. I need help verifying the hookup of the forward/reverse switch and the motor.I have power and ground to the solenoid, can't hear contact. Get buzzer when in reverse but no movement.

welcome to BGW, is wiring all hooked up? have you tried jacking rear end up and jumping large post on soleniod, with rear up jump large post turn key on put in gear and press pedal.......try that it may be all you need to do to find out.......if cart runs its either in the activation circuit or its a bad soleniod............................

I found voltage feeding the soleniod, no reaction from solenoid, Jumpered the solenoid and no response from motor

trace the small wires backwards they should lead to a micro switch..................or find your wiring diagram in the stickies, sorry i wasn,t thinking tired......even if the micro is bad jumping the large post should work.......see if you can find the wiring diagram its been a long time since i messed with that setup..........................

In forward and in reverse on the yellow wire from the solenoid I have continuity back to the batterys and when I press the pedal I have 34 volts on the green wire. I believe the solenoid is dead but when I bypassed it nothing happened.

I found a diagram but the wire colors are not identified and it is not laid out as a schematic nor are the terminals. I found a diagram for replacing the direction switch. The problem I have is on the forward/reverse switch the red wire off the motor, the positive from the battery and a "half throttle feed" from the battery, plus the jumper between the bottom two terminals on the direction switch.

They were all pretty much the same for 10-15 years. The 2 bottom Positive main feeds were forward and reverse Positive. 36v on the passenger side and 18v on the driver's side. Silly really. that is why you will often find a jumper across the bottom terminals feeding 36v to both directions... hope that and this diagram help.

I need to replace the solenoid is that a 36 volt coil with a 30 amp capacity?

36v is a must. 30 amp is pretty low, can you find a 50-70 amp unit.

Thanks for the help, both scottyb and shadowman I now have movement slow due to low batteries but movement.
