Default Lack of Power Club Car

Just purcahsed a home that included a 2000 DS 48 volt Club Car elecetric golf cart. Needed new batteries which we replaced. Trouble is on hills this cart really lacks power and slow down dramatically. How can this lack of power be improved?

Thanks jack

welcome to BGW...............1st make sure you break your new batteries in right .......if you don,t it may never improve........cable ends clean and very tight, new batteries are about 75% so thats part of the problem......when you put charger on leave it go until it shuts off which could take 12 to 16 hours.........never run them down past 50% always keep water level full 1/8 of an inch or so past lead plates.............distilled water only........once you get 12 or so complete charge cycles you,ll start seeing a difference however going uphills its always going to slow down its just the nature of the beast.....if you don,t have one pick up a digital volt meter it will come in quite handy..............most important is breaking in the batteries and battery maintence without them you,ll not be a happy camper
