solenoids if you stack the symbols a and b should work out correctly Im just wondering if some day you get a unit with built in diodes it will be wired wrong!!

the diode your getting power from the battery the diode is blocking the POS and the switch will not see power !!! so the upper circuit will not work.

Sounds like a good Idea. I'd like to see how this turns out. Would you even notice any shorter run time with the extra soleniod?

I think if anything there may be a slight improvement in performance by getting rid of 80% of the 4 gauge wire - less wire, less resistence more voltage

Golfdog sorry but i have one question
How much will it cost to do this and would it not be better to use this money and get a controller that uses a toggle switch for F/R

Unfortunatly I bought the controller and upgraded the wiring last year so that was a sunk cost. The solenoids main and reversing came to $200 and I have a buyer for the Fwd/Rev lever, the old solenoid and the old controller, so this latest exploite has only cost small change and its also an enjoyable distraction.

You mean a new controller and new motor right? You may want to re-think this post.
