Default 2001 DS hesitation / cutout

Hi ... I just bought a 2001 Electric CC this past weekend. On the test drive everything seemed fine, but running it today it seems to hesitate (power loss) intermittantly while running at full speed. Almost as if the power cuts out for a second. Is this indicative of anything? Original '01 batteries seem to charge properly.

Thanks

I agree this could be a speed sensor, I do not think the regular tests will catch this intermittent high speed problem. keep an eye on things and lets see if we get any other symptoms.

Thanks for the replies. When I say "full speed" it still didn't seem that fast. So is the speed sensor maybe cutting in when it shouldn't ? I would be driving along at a constant speed and then glug.. glug, (that's the technical description), and then go again.

Could also be he MCOR if it's an MCOR cart. They are notorious for this as well.

OK...so I'm heading back up to the cabin tomorrow and plan:
- physically check the speed sensor
- try the "push test"
If I remove the sensor to repair / replace will the cart still run, (but just "slow")?

Is there any way to troubleshoot to see if it's the MCOR?

'01 CC DS, 48V Powerdrive Plus (AC serial prefix)

Thanks again.

The guy I bought it from happened to have an MCOR on hand and switched it out. Seems to have done the trick!
