The 3/8 fits like a glove through the OBC, now need to make a couple # 2 cables

I will say took about 40 minutes to thread that little bit, was worried about knarling the copper, let me get it done so we can make sure there will be no problems.

So here is the finished project, nuts tightened without problem or fear of stripping.

The stud is a bit long, but good thing about that is if you mess up the threads you have plenty more to work with.

If I had it to do over, I would have used a 7/16 rod, as it would aslo fit, but they did not have any @ Acme.

All the hardware is stainless except for the two neoprene black washers.

seriously though, this is the most comprehensive report on the subject available on the internets! i'll be using this info next week while reworking a few things under the hood.
