97 CC slow speed.

Hey I have a 97 CC its a 48 volt. I just replaiced the rear springs with heavy duty springs. While it was up I noticed the brake mounting block on the drivers side had broken. when i got under to fix that I noticced the Accelarator pivit Rod plate had been bent. Then i noticed that the potentiometer case hade been cracked all across. everything was loose and wobbly. I replaiced the Accelerator bracket and JB weld the pot box back in working order. I replaiced the micro swith on the box as well. I have put all back together. With all that said. Now when i push the accelerator down it goes all the way to the floor. I only creep in forward and reverse. DID I MISS SOMETHING OR IS THERE AN ADJUSTMENT I AM MISSING?

Not sure what all you did? You must have had the pot out of the cart? Maybe it is not on "zero" when the peddle is at rest.... Check it with an ohm meter... zero = 5k ohms

Thank you. I will check it tom. Now I have a dumb question. How do you check the ohms of the pot box in the rest position without taking it back off the cart since the wires are covered up by the box? Sorry if i sound dumb. I am learning as I go and have learned alot to this point.

Is it possible that you need to "lengthen" the accelerator rod adjusting the ball joint caps at each end?

I know that with my 97 CC and the V-Glide I needed to adjust the length in order to have the wiper arm come in complete contact with the last contact of the V-Glide.

Hey thank you although I dont have a v-glide. I have the black box attached to the frame. I am not sure how to test the ohms while its on because the wires are covored up by the box.
