potential new owner--several questions (sorry)
Hello all. My wife and I recently purchased a home on my favorite course and everyone seems to do most of their "visiting" on golf carts so we have caught the bug. I have been lurking for quite a while but scheduled an appointment with a local dealer today so I thought I'd ask a few questions first. I'm looking at purchasing a 2007 Precedent that appears to be fresh from the golf course--no upgrades whatsoever. It has Dec 2010 batteries and the dealer is asking $2300. I've read enough to know that the 4-12V Precedents have had some issues so I was wondering if I should consider one as my first cart. The dealer quoted prices on upgrades (light kit- $225, brakelight/turn signals- $225, windshield- $95, road safety kit (?)- $140, etc) but I'm pretty handy so I'm thinking I could save some money by adding these myself. Additionally I'd like to go with a set of wheels and low profile tires with no lift. It looks like 10" wheels with 205/50-10 tires seem to fit but I'm concerned because no one seems to mention offset on this setup. Is it neccessary to worry about this or will any at this size work? I apologize in advance about all the questions but most folks around here just simply purchase them with all the goodies and drive!

Re: potential new owner--several questions (sorry)
Just an update. I went by and spoke with the dealer and looked at the cart. It is the dark blue and the paint seemed to be in pretty good shape. A few chips/nicks here and there but nothing severe. It has Dec 2010 US Batterys in it and he stated that they are still under warranty. He said he had to order another Club Car programmer but it should be in by the end of this week and he would include the cost of the level 4 program. It has the factory windshield but nothing else. He dropped the price to $2150 and will include a set of 10" low profile tires/wheels (look very similar to the ITP SS112s but I can't remember the name) for an additional $375. So all together for $2700 out the door I get what I think is a pretty blank canvas to start customizing how I want. Any input from y'all would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the advice. I think it seems to be a very reasonable price (especially around here) and since it's bone stock I'll be able to upgrade it the way I want. My wife will of course have the final say though.

Another quick question....I noticed what I thought was some paint chips on the body as well as the hood portion was pretty oxidized but then I realized that the Precedent bodies are solid color all the way through. Is there a method to restore the bodies to the original luster and help hide surface imperfections (i.e. minor scratches)?

Sounds like a pretty decent deal, I gave right at $2000.00 for my '06 about 1 1/2 years ago. Just as the one you are looking at it was right off the course. It had the stock dark blue CC body as well and it was in great shape. I did use some rubbing compound and a buffer to take out some of the swirls. If you have some tools and know how to use them it will save you alot of money doing the upgrades yourself. I have done everything except for the paint on mine. Feel free to view the pics I have posted in my profile

Man your cart looks great....and I love that dash with the stereo/speakers! I'm been racking my brain trying to come up with a similar setup (and I haven't even gotten the cart yet )
