Default 99 ds motor bearing replacement

I have a new to me 99 ds. it is a 48 volt with a controller. it is making a strange noise coming from the motor. i yanked the motor out and it has a rubber bumper inside the armature that looks good. no guide ring as i was told? anyway i now think the rear bearing in the motor is bad. I have seen these listed for pretty cheap so i thought i would give that a try. Has anyone ever replaced one of these? i did some searching but came up short.

I did put the cart on jack stands and remove the tires and brake drums. the vibrations were still there.

thanks for any help,
Aaron

The replacement of the motor bearing is straight forward but you will need a bearing puller. The rubber bumper in the armature is not the correct part for that year motor. If your car # is prior to 9912-752697 you would need the guide ring, if its after that # you need a "motor centering kit", part#AM10039
This kit comes complete with a new bearing, it also includes a splined rubber bumper (which would normally fit inside the motor shaft) which should not be fitted as it can cause the motor to lock up.
