what kind of 12v battery to use for radio install
My description pretty much asks the question. I am wondering should I go with a large car battery or will a arc or lawnmower battery work? Just trying to figure out what the difference would be except for size. Thanks for the help.

deep cycle. large wheelchair batteries are perfect. smaller than a full size battery, will mount in any position. just make sure you get enough amps hours to cover your needs plus some reserve.

Thanks. Where can I get a wheelchair battery? Do they have them at places like Walmart or more specialty stores.

I'll second that, a small mower, or jet ski starting battery will die before you get through your favorite playlist, espically with the lights on. I don't know anything about the wheelchair batteries.
I prefer a marine deep cycle, or dual purpose (still just a deep cycle). They come in multiple sizes. You can run stereo, lights, neon, and whatever else you want to add with no problems. You can find them almost anywere, all the auto parts stores have them, Wally world, Sams, etc... you can find one for under 100 bucks. |

I'm going to measure the space I have for a batt box in the bag well under and behind my rear seat supports and then just get the biggest deep cycle battery I can find that will fit inside the box. By biggest, I mean electrical specs, not physical size necessarily. I'll be running lights and stereo off of mine - the 4th batt in my battery pack ain't gettin it done.

I used the 12v battery out of my kids old electric ride on car. It has a charger and lasts long enough for the radio and lights. Small enough to stick anywhere too.
