Default New to me 97 ds project, charger wont stop charging.

My new project cart will not stop charging. The cart is a 97 with good batterys. They seem to charge fine but the charger will not cut off. I checked the battery pack voltage and it is 55 wich is too high. Anybody got any ideas would be apreciated. Thanks!

How do you know the batteries are good? did you test them with a volt meter? what was the readings, what year are they? and when is the last time you checked the water in them?

The batterys check fair with the sg gauge. And each battery is about 9 volts and full of water. The date on the batterys is 10/09 and the cart has sat for over a year. It seems to run fine but the charger has been charging for about 48 hrs straight.

the computer gets confused after long periods of just sitting. 16 hours is the cutoff threshold. definitely unplug it. i would do a OBC reset, drive the cart around for a bit (10 min or longer), then recharge and closely monitor. it may take a few cycles of charge/discharge before the OBC finds its rhythm again.

Ok, thanks Sonicj I will try the reset today. My next question is what is the cheapest way to get this cart as fast as my 02 ds with the level 4 code. Should i just go ahead with a Plum Quick or is their something else i can do first?
