Accelerator Pedal works halfway down
On my cart, when I press down the accelerator pedal, the cart starts moving when it is about halfway down. There is a very small range of acceleration in other words. Is this normal? The cart is a 1996 Club Car DS 48 volt power drive. It is also not too fast, but I guess that is just because it has the stock motor and everything in it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Re: Accelerator Pedal works halfway down
do you have the V-Glide throttle pot? if so, open it and check the throw on the wiper.
you may need to mechanically adjust the throttle linkage. |

that may also be why its slow.....normal speed is approx 12 mph............you should be able to tell if the moveable arm is making its full stroke by the copper shoes inside V-glide.....they should be nice and shiney............also don,t forget to disconnect main power before hand and take out the #5 battery to get working room......#5 is the front drivers side battery....................... |

Re: Accelerator Pedal works halfway down
How can I tell if it has v glide? I know that there is a little black box next to the pedal underneath the cart. I will pop it open tomorrow and take a look at it.

Re: Accelerator Pedal works halfway down
If it is a MCOR cart you can take up the slack by securing a zip tie around the post behind the accelerator pedal, this worked for my cart. There is a post on the board with pictures but I could not find it to attach for clarity.
Maybe someone else has the link. |

Re: Accelerator Pedal works halfway down
Okay I think it is MCOR because there is no pie shaped box. I'll look at it today and report back later.

Re: Accelerator Pedal works halfway down
Ok, I just took a look under the cart and there is a little (sort of square) black box. I opened it up and there is a little microswitch with two wires attached to it. One is solid blue and the other is green with a white stripe. The blue wire comes out of the box and to the front of the cart, while the green wire goes to the back of the cart along with a purple and yellow wire. Is there anyway to adjust the throttle? I can tell you that the accelerator pedal is very loose and it wiggles around. Shouldn't it be tight? Thanks for the help.

Re: Accelerator Pedal works halfway down
It is just to the left of the accelerator pedal under the cart. It is mounted on the right side of the drivers side beam if that makes sense.
