Default charger getting very hot

I have an 08 Precedent and I noticed that the charger gets very hot while charging. It charges fine, just wondering how hot the charger should get. I can't keep my hand on it for more than 3-4 seconds. Is this normal?

Is your charger a Club car factory unit as I find some after market chargers do get very hot? I have never had a charger that got so hot you couldnt touch it unless it was sitting in the good old South Texas sun during summer time?
Maybe remove the cover and look for some thing inside that could stop air flow through unit while in operation. I have found strange things inside chargers like spider webs, ant nests, dead snake, and even on one a dead family of mice?

getting that hot can,t be good for the charger.....i,m not 100% certain but i thought that was a indication of a transformer going bad......regardless i would think the heat would lesson the lifespan of the charger..............the last time i had one get so hot you couldn,t keep your hand on it was a e-z go charger that crapped out not long after.........i don,t know what went bad the owner just tossed it and got a new one..........................

My 07 gets very hot also. In fact I was planning on putting it on a wooden shelf in my garage but now I'm wondering if I should.

I took the cover off of mine and there appears to be no problems. Honestly considering the inherent heat associated with any transformer and the fact that the charger is not fan cooled I think it may be normal.
