Carryall I Rollin' on 22's....
Bling Bling!
3" Jake's lift, stock Mazda Miata rims, minimum of 1/2" spacers needed in back to keep rubber from rubbing the springs, but I went with 1.25" spacers to help with stability. Cart was still too tippy IMO so we put 1" spacers in the front as well, this helped quite a bit. Also picked up nearly 2mph in speed, all other things on cart being stock. I'd post radar data but I don't want to get made fun of again.... Only PITA was the Miata rims have a 1.9" center hole, which wouldn't fit over the 2.25" center hub on the Carryall. We used a hole saw to enlarge them to 2.5", to allow clearance. The Carryall before, for comparison: |

Re: Carryall I Rollin' on 22's....
Ok, here's the data from the radar run. 1.7mph faster with Miata rims, even with the battery pack on the cart being about 15% lower than during the previous tests.
Note the steepness of the teal colored line, the Miata rim run. It clearly accelerated more quickly as well as reaching a higher top speed. Honestly, I think the best thing I could do for this cart is to junk the Sams Club Energizer batteries, and get a decent brand. These batteries are only 1.5 years old, yet only go about 5-6 miles before feeling noticeably slower. They have been maintained properly, too. I agree, the cart looks much better with the larger wheels. The ultimate proof is this: My wife was embarassed to have the thing in the driveway, the way it looked before. Now, she's coming up with excuses to ride it around town! But the funny thing is, the Miata doesn't look so good with the golf cart rims on it? |

Hey! I bought this because I couldn't find my HotWheels gun!
No, not a cop, just like playing with performance vehicles (Watercraft, motorcycles, etc) and this is the best way of determining performance increases. |
