Really slow down going up hill. Advice needed please
On flat ground the cart moves out nicely. When going up hill it really slows down to a crawl.
The question is; should it slow to such a crawl? It does not stop it just slows down. The hill is steep and maybe that is it, the hill is just too steep. |

Could be a number of things. First what cart do you have, ie is it a Series or Regen/Sepex (see the Sticky for picture identification) what year is it (also in Sticky), have you checked that the batteries are in good nick - how old are they. Is this a new problem you are having? The more info the better

Re: Really slow down going up hill. Advice needed please
The cart is a 1993 Club Car DS. Appears to be a series model. The batteries are new. I am breaking in the batteries as I have read here and on the US Battery website.
I let the batter charger run until it stopped on its own which took about 12 hours the first time. I have not yet installed a voltmeter but have only driven the cart down and up the driveway a few times as a test but not draining the batteries down very much. |

Series carts do slow a lot on a steep hill... that is just the nature of the stock beast.
Remember new batteries are only 75% of their potential. It takes anywhere from 20 to 150 cycles to reach full potential, depending upon who you ask. |

Ah... Ok as long as I know they slow on hills I will stop looking for a cause. I will just enjoy the scenery on the way up.
The batteries have only been through 2 cycles so there is a long way to go there. Thank you for your help. |

Have not done any of that. Cleaned up the cables but they should be replaced. As far as brushes go I have no idea where they are at.
Thanks for these ideas I will get going on them. |
