89 cc, 36v reverse but no forward
My 89 36 v club car goes in reverse but in forward soleniod just clicks (fast clicking) I have removed an checked all cables and their connections, checked batteries no dry cells and fully charged = 6.12-6.4v in each battery, 36.5v across bank, checked continuity in micro switches in F/R switch and vglide, installed new solenoid. any ideas? Thanks

Re: 89 cc, 36v reverse but no forward
welcome to BGW it could be fine in reverse cause it only needs 18 volts to run but if your soleniod is clicking fast in forward the 1st thing i would do is go over the batteries ........some of the #,s you posted like 6.14 isn,t good at all......and 36.5 for the pack isn,t good figure 36 volts is 50% drained........load test the batteries and check the cells with a hydrometer.......it may just be one battery and thats all it takes.......................

Try pulling or pushing on the shift handle and see if it tries to go?
Inspect all cable connections on the F&R switch. |

Re: 89 cc, 36v reverse but no forward
Thanks again guys, sry 4 the delay. My "battery tester" shows 'specific gravity' of >1300 on all cells. I thot the batteries were charged, shows how much I know about bateries.I have however learned a great deal about them thanks to you guys. The 6.14v battery (#1) was dwn to 4.8 when I checked it 2day. Toasted I guess. I replaced the #1 & #2 battery with a deep cell 12 v marine battery to see if the cart would go forward. IT DOES!! :) Can i use the 12 v until I can find a replacement for the toasted battery, WITHOUT ruining the 12v? Thanks again for all your help.
