Default Re: Help recovering cc precedent seats!

Well I attempted this project today with my new seat covers. It was an absolute pain to get the seats seperated from the plastic bases....only to realize that there was no where to go once I did. I ended up carrying the whole mess to an upolstery shop where even she said it might not work. Hopefully she'll get them on this week and I can update with good news. I'm really peeved at the place i got the seat covers from since they stated it was "easy"!

I know what you mean about being tuff to Sep the cover from the plastic. I cut it with a razor then took a heat gun to remove the remaining glue and foam. Then cut a piece of 1/4 press board to match the seat and back then staple just like the rest. Turned out pretty good. I don't have the back finished but as soon as I do will take pics and post them.

Yup! Found the same issues after I ordered the molded replacement fabric. Scratched my head, took the units the the local boat upholstry shop...they said WTF, why in the world did CC do that. Ordered new complete units. Sent the molded fabric pieces back!
