Help recovering cc precedent seats!
Ok I need some advice. I have recovered my rear seats no problem. I pulled the back of the front seat off and the seat itself from the front and it looks as if the cusions are glued in with the vinyl glued also. Is this correct. If so any suggestions on taking them out and recovering them myself or is this something I am going to take to an apholstry place. I am using vinyl that my wife loved so buying covers is not really an option at this time especially since i have already covered the back seats. I will post pics once I get them all done. Thanks for any ideas.

If the foam is good can you install the covers over the old ones?

Re: Help recovering cc precedent seats!
I'm not sure. I haven't tried pulling the cushions out of the plastic because I was not sure what I was getting into. I was hoping someone here had done some before and could give some insight. Also I am using vinyl that is not form fitted. So they are not covers. Going to have to do some stretching to make fit correctly.

Re-cover over the old seat and staple into the plastic. Don't attempt to glue them on like the originals.

Re: Help recovering cc precedent seats!
I have done several but all with formed or sewn covers and never found any of them glued to the foam. If you are saying that the cover is glued to the foam you can "shave" it from the foam with a razor blade or replace the foam.

Crash: unfortunately I am using vinyl that is not formed or stitched so will have to staple to get to fit correctly. But thanks for your help. |
