Default battery charge light

Hi, I have a 2003 clubcar ds with 1 yr old batteries (48volt). My problem is my charge light has been flashing even with the key turned off. It comes on for a random amount of seconds, 10, 20, 30 or so then goes off for 5 secs then comes back on again. The only way I can get it to stop is to switch it to tow. Thanks, Joe

From owner's manual:

"• The warning light will repeatedly illuminate for 10 seconds, with 4 second intervals, if the charger times out at 16 hours (see charger manual) and the batteries are not sufficiently charged. This indicates an abnormal charge cycle. Charger and batteries should be checked by your Club Car distributor/dealer.
• The warning light will repeatedly illuminate for 10 seconds, with 4 second intervals, during a charge cycle (DC plug is still connected) if AC power to the charger is interrupted. The light will go out when AC
power is restored. "
