Default 2000 DS won't move

Hi,

I have a 2000 DS that will not move. It started with the cart sometimes not going, then when we were out riding on it, it would die. We would let it sit and then it would start back up. So we replaced the cables and it worked great for the day. We charged it and that's it. I can hear and feel the solenoid on the drivers side activate. The passenger side one I can't feel or hear it work. Can someone point me in a direction to look? A diagram to test the connections?

Thank you
Bill

the drivers side soleniod should be the reagan soleniod.........does it have a resistor coil mounted to it? if so thats not the one you need....... the pass side one is the one you need to work thats the master...............jack the rear up jump the large posts turn key on put in gear and press pedal......if cart runs replace............................

Thanks shadow, you are correct about the drivers side having the coil, I jumped the passenger coil and it still won't go. Someone mentioned the tow switch being bad but, I'm not convinced.

It don't see any diodes. Another question, do you say jack it up for safety. I did not have it jacked up, I used a set of jumper cables. Secondly(without jumping the solenoid) it feels as though it starts to move, a slight forward motion when I press the pedal.

yes for safety, can you try with something other than a set of jumper cables? or try jacking the rear up and just seeing if the cart wants to go if your getting slight movement on the ground than wheels should spin with nothing underneath them..........................have you tried the charger to see if it still works?................we might want to start with basics, 1st try the charger than go to batteries and cables..............test and load test all batteries, check water and fill if needed......it only takes one battery to drop under load to stop the cart in its tracks........................the only concern i have is the soleniod not clicking but lets eliminate the batteries and cables 1st...............................

Ok,
I took every connection apart and cleaned them. When I was done the cart moved about 8 feet. I then jumped the solenoid by putting both wires on the same terminal and I rode around the block twice. So I am looking for a solenoid I can get today. Sound correct? Thanks for your time shadow, I greatly appreciate it.

i don,t think thats normal......the other soleniod is what activates the reagan braking but i couldn,t answer wether its malfuntioning or not.........sit tight maybe david ( tahoedawg ) will know or one of the other guys who are C.C. techs........i,m just your backyard campground type of fixer.....thats one that i would want to see 1st hand but it does work off that other soleniod......so one would think it has to have something to do with it....................
