Default Need Instructions to Bypass OBC Please

Would someone please point me to the directions to bypass OBC. I have purchased a new Schauer charger and I have learned in order for it to work I will have to bypass the OBC. I have a 2005 DS IQ 48v, but it has a brand new OBC in it and Schauer told me I will have to bypass the OBC because this charger does not need the OBC, it has it's own controls built in.

two wires need to be jumped

1 yellow wire from OBC to Main Solenoid,
A. this wire needs to be hooked from solenoid to -48vdc neg pack.

2 black wire at charge receptacle
A. this also needs to be connected from Receptacle to -48 vdc neg pack

does this answer your question.

what happened to the old charger ??
why did you buy a new OBC ??

I've been reading up on this and this is the third different answer I get on this. Hear are the three I have read:
1. Just splice into black wire coming from back of charge receptacle and run to main negative of battery pack
2. Unhook black wire coming from back of charge receptacle and run a new wire from to main negative of battery pack
3. Yours is same as 2 above but you add the solenoid wire change also.

Which one is correct? (All I want to do is disable the charger controls from the OBC because the new charger I bought has them built in.

I bought this cart from someone who did not take care of it very well. He took it to a dealer (bad one) who sold him a new obc when it didn't need one - the batteries were just gone. I did not get a charger with this cart so I bought a new Schauer which they assure me will work just fine if I bypass the obc.

Thanks

Well if your going to leave the OBC in the unit (why) then skip the yellow wire.
I would pull it and sell it!!

OK but do i need to just splice into the black wire coming from the receptacle and run to negative of battery pack or do I need to unhook it and run a new one to negative of battery pack

It depends on what your going to do with the OBC, figure that out first, if your going to sell it then don't splice it.

Forgive my ignorance - I'm new to the cart world and appreciate your patience with me. Just to be clear - I'm going to take the easiest route for now. Please let me know if I have this correct:

I'm going to leave the OBC in cart for now. Splice with #10 wire into black wire coming from charge receptacle and run to negative of main battery pack. This should allow my new charger to cycle on and off based on it's own internal controls.

Here is what you need to do.

On your wrench, tape up one end so all that is showing is the very end, that way if you drop it you don't short out a battery and cause it to blow up.

1. Move the Tow/Run Switch to Tow.
2. On the left most rear battery, drivers side (battery number 6) disconnect the Negative lead, from the pack, this is the wire that goes through the OBC.
3. On the right most, passenger side rear battery (battery number 1) disconnect the postive lead. that goes to the solenoid.

These steps will isolate the batteries from any components so you don't short out anything.

4. Run a new wire from the Negative post of battery number 6 to the charging receptacle and hook it up where the black wire is coming out. Basically Duplicate how it is done for the Red wire going to your positive on battery number one.

5. Put the main power wire back on the positive post that you took off on battery 1 and tighten securely.

6. Put the main negative wire back on the negative post of battery 6.

Move the Tow/Run switch back to Tow.

Plug in the charger and you should be good.

The OBC will still be in the power circuit (not charging) so it will reboot before your cart can run, basically turn the key on, put it in forward, tap the throttle, you'll hear the solenoid click, and the orange light on the dash will flash for a bit and go out.

You should be good to go then.
