Default Quick OBC bypass question????

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...ng-picture.jpg

So I jumped these 2 wires because my charger wasnt coming on. As per all the other posts, I was having an issue. Just to clarify, when I jump these 2 wires it bypasses the OBC thus letting me know my OBC is bad? Correct?

Where is the best place to buy a new one....or should I say cheapest!

Thanks. This foum has saved me some cash! and cost me some......LOL!

The cart is 04 CC DS 48V all batteries were reading good voltage prior....charger just wouldnt come on.

No it does not mean the obc is bad.

from the charge receptacle to the obc is a grey wire it should disconnect at the OBC. With the charger unjumpered and both plugs plugged in touch the grey wire to the -48 volt neg. battery pack, now if the charger comes on then the obc is bad if it does not come on let me know.

I was looking at that info from other post......but on my cart the grey wire has the inline fuse in the rubber boot. and connects just off the charging receptacle. No wires connect at the OBC with removable connectors. they all go into it and seem siliconed in. The black wire coming from the receptacle is bolted to the receptacle. Is this the one I should jump? Oh and I tried resseting the OBC.....no luck as per the instructions.

the grey wire at the charge receptacle where does the other end go ????

The rubber boot on the grey wire at the OBC should pull back and there will be a spade connector there check again, if not then get a fuse .25 amp and jump from the -48 volts to the grey wire at the fuse connector and check that fuse in the grey wire.

There are two wires from the charging receptacle that run to the OBC in a wire loom. Ones black and is bolted to the receptacle and runs directly into the OBC. The other is grey and comes from the receptacle to the yellow rubber fuse boot (fuse is good) and then continues on into the OBC. There are no connections on the OBC or near it for those 2 wires.

I will try a jumper from the grey wire to the negative of #6 in the morning.

I did a jumper between the grey and the negative. Nothing happened...charger didnt kick on.

Is the grey everyone talks about jumping to the negative typically have the inline fuse. Its seems that I have a different set-up because I dont have spade connectors?

Is it possibly the black that I need to disconnect and jump?

You have to watch it carefully because this bypasses the OBC which controls the charging. The charger will not shut off and you'll ruin a set of batts. Only do it long enough to bring the batts up enough for the OBC to take over. Do at your own risk!
