Default Re: 92 DS Stopped Moving Forward or Reverse

Just so u know I made a jumper wire with an alligator clip on each end of a 10 gauge piece of wire. I would like to add I checked it with my fluke digital meter!
I connected one clip to each of the two large posts of the Only solenoid I have on my cart! I had a Good connection and nothing happened again testing it with my meter! I then completely removed the solenoid and cleaned up the terminals and replaced all the ends of the wires that go to it! I reinstalled it and still nothing happened. I jumped it out again pressed the pedal and still nothing! Thats why I moved on to the controller.
It was only after installing the borrowed controller did I get any kind of movement or reaction from it. But even then it was for a brief second and kicked right back out. I then jumped out the solenoid again and again nothing happened until I tapped on the side of the solenoid with my channel lock plyers. Then and only then did it start running! (I would like to add that I still had the cart jacked up and its a good thing I did cause when the cart run did not stop running til I shut off the key which was faster and safer to do than trying to remove the jumper wire off the solenoid!

I do know even with the solenoid jumped out it did not respond til I tapped on the side of it with my channel locks plyers!
I don't know what else to Add and I am very Sorry u r confused cause so was I until a few day's ago trying to fix this cart! I just know it is running better than ever and I could not be any Happier than I am with it now that it is fixed!

I would like to add I have been told that jumping out the solenoid is not a good thing to do, but I kinda knew that before I did it!
Jumping out the Solenoid can cause extensive damage to ur carts electrical system! U could burn out controlers, motors, wires and cables or worse start a fire cause u r applying direct voltage to ur system!

i have to disagree about jumping the soleniod.........i do agree its not a by the book thing to do but as far as causing damage i have jumped 1000,s of soleniods with a 6 gage jumper wire i made and have never had any type of ill effect from doing so.............i think if you read every post on this site gas and elec you,ll not find one where someone did any type of damage from jumping a soleniod.....can it happen??? i suppose but i,ll bet your chances are better of hitting the lottery 1st........or being struck by lightning........................
