had batteries replaced now charger breaker tripping
Just bought an "01 DS with bad batteries. As part of deal I bought batteries and previous owner installed them. It runs ok but when i plugged it up to charge amp gauge pegs to 20 then little breaker on charger pops out. Any ideas? http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/image...s/icon_cry.gif

Re: had batteries replaced now charger breaker tripping
I checked schematics and it seems that everything is wired correctly. If the charger didnt peg itself i would just think that it didnt need charged.

Re: had batteries replaced now charger breaker tripping
breaker could be weak causing it to trip prematurely.
you can try opening the breaker and cleaning the contacts. a brass wheel on a dremel and some denatured alcohol works great. they are only a couple bucks to replace, but cleaning it might get you charging tonight. anywho, thats where i would start. -sj |

If you just bought the batteries they should have a replacement warranty on them?

Re: had batteries replaced now charger breaker tripping
Glad you got away with $60. I've seen it both ways, 6v in a 48v cart and 8v in a 36v cart.
Your not alone. |
