Smile Series/IQ carts

When we talk about changing the speed code we are talking about a IQ cart correct? I'm assuming this will increase amps thru the controller?

On a series cart all you can do is upgrade the controller, and I guess you can tell the difference between a IQ and Series by the IQ has a tow switch under the seat?

Thanks,

Steve

It doesn't seem like a controller on a series cart does anything huge except the torque? I already have a bandit on my 03 48 vold DS series cart, can you convert a series cart to a IQ? This would then alow to add a speed code? Would it be worth it is a IQ cart better than a series cart?

The speed code does not add amperage to the controller. IQ Motors are equipped with a speed sensor that monitors the RPMs of the motor. The speed code simply allows the motor to run a higher MAX RPM before the controller slows the car down. On speed setting 4, the controller will not allow the car to run faster than 19.6MPH.

A series car is not necessariliy "Better" than an IQ car. It's all based on personal preference and what you use your vehicle for really. A series car is definitely a much more simple design, but an IQ is more efficient and will provide motor braking. Yes it can be converted, however, you'd need a new motor, controller, on-board computer, and wire harness to make it happen.

So were did you get the name Tahoedawg? We camp every year for Thanksgiving at Mistletoe State Park. I live about 30 miles south of Macon.

I don't know anything at all about the GE controllers. I'm a dealer tech so the only thing I can really help you with are OEM parts.

About my user name..

When I created it I was driving a Z71 Tahoe... and my entire family are HUGE Georgia Bulldog fans, hence the "Dawg" part of the name.. So it all came together like that.. lol

I currently drive a 96 Jeep Cherokee with a full 2002 Chevy Tahoe 5.3L Engine/Trans and my wife drives a 2005 Tahoe, so I kept it.

Mistletoe is a very nice place to stay. It's about 15 minutes from here.
