Default Brake light switch

Wiring a single switch for brake lights on a 02 48v DS series cart. Is it OK to wire the brake switch to the ignition switch to make sure the brake lights go off when the parking brake is applied?

No... The ignition switch operates on a 48V current. You'll need to install a 48Volt relay and switch it on and off by the keyswitch. Then run your 12V wire across the contactor posts of the relay and then to your brake limit switch.

you could swap your ignition switch for a DPST switch.
or
add a timer circuit
or
put an additional switch on the parking brake to break the circuit.
