'95 Electric 48v PowerDrive won't Charge

My early 1995 DS 48v PowerDrive will not charge. It sat for almost a year. It was running OK then. I put new batteries in it two weeks ago. It ran fine. Noticed that when I plugged it in to charge, the charger came on, but only to about one amp. Last time out, it went about one mile before it nearly stopped moving. Tried a different charger, it also showed about one amp. Parked it for a couple hours, and brought it home. Barely made it. I've replaced any cables with corrosion, including red from charging receptacle to battery. Checked the inline fuse, and what looks like a fuse at top of receptacle. Plugged into charger, still only goes to one amp. Pack voltage is showing 48v, using analog meter. Any ideas?

welcome3 to BGW can you try your charger on another cart just to confirm it works? and lift the seat and give that grey wire a tug make sure it dosn,t come out of the receptical if so thats your problem if not and your cart still has a red battery dash light i would change the OBC theres a great chance thats what went bad.....................................

Thanks for the quick response. The gray wire is tight. I can take my charger to the local course and let them try it. I did see another post about resetting the OBC. I'll try to find that again. Do you know where the gray wire terminates? It looks like it goes to the back, but I didn't see it when I was under the car.

I found these instructions to reset OBC; however, my '95 has no run/tow switch(that I'm aware of.)
Resetting the OBC
To reset the OBC the following must be done in this
order:
• Key Switch to Off
• Forward/Reverse to Neutral
• Tow/Run Switch to Tow
• Disconnect the Battery NEGATIVE (–) wire
from the Battery Minus terminal on the battery
pack.
• Put the Tow/Run to Run
• Forward/Reverse Switch to Reverse
• Key Switch to On
• Lock the throttle pedal down
The reverse buzzer will sound and go off in about 30
seconds. Leave the cart like that for 5 min to cause the
OBC to reset.
To reconnect the OBC back into the system:
• Key Switch to Off
• Forward/Reverse Switch to Neutral
• Tow/Run switch to Tow
• Reconnect the Batt – wire to the battery minus
terminal on the battery pack.

Does this procedure seem right for my CC?

Tried the reset. Reverse buzzer never came on. I continued with the rest, but nothing changed.

Do you have a red dash light? Might be a bad OBC

The low battery light comes on intermittently. Are there any tests I can run on the OCB?

the OBC controls the charging system and tells the charger what to do if all else is ok and you know for sure your charger is good and all wires from the charge receptical are good than the only thing to go bad is the OBC and your year cart if its the original ...........thats why were asking about the color of the dash light its not uncommon at all for it to go bad and not let the charger come on but let the cart run..................the only other reason the charger wouldn,t come on is if your pack voltage is below 38 volts........so if you have over 38 volts i would change the OBC..................................

Since the charger is starting when I plug it in, I'm guessing the receptacle is good. Is this a fair assumption? I'm not sure what the small gray wire does, it must run to the OBC. Do you know it's purpose? I did check that fuse, and it was good.

I'm sure glad I found this site, I appreciate all the good input. Any suggestions about where to buy parts at fair prices, preferably in Fla, so shipping will be quick?
