08' Precedennt no go after cable upgrade

Hello all, I just bought my first cart and did a # 4 cable uprgrade. I thought I flipped the switch to TOW prior to install but after I finished the cable swap, I noticed the switch still in the RUN position. I have minumal knowledge on these carts but I think my controller is toast. Any suggestions on trouble shooting. I think the cart is under warranty but with the lift, tires, and cable upgrade, I doubt they will cover it.

welcome to BGW..........well as for testing if you can get the service manual for your cart.....not the owners manual the test procedure is in there but if you did the cables without putting it in tow ( they are very fussy about that ) yes theres a real good chance you took out the controller and you arn,t the 1st person to do this and you won,t be the last......but its sad at what a costly mistake to learn a lesson, you would think they could incorporate a fuse into the system somewhere for this very reason......they have to know this happens and your more than likely right about your warranty i don,t think they,ll cover it or anything else if you did those add ons and what bites about that is if you had them do it you might have a chance but since you tried to save a few bucks your on your own...........................

Thanks for the welcome and feedback. I will definately try and obtain a service manual. I am still amazed and shocked at how simple yet delicate these carts are. I called my father in law who also just bought the same cart, so I probably already saved him 500 smakers. Cant help but be a little disgusted with myself, fortunatley this forum has already been a help, hopefully I can return the favor in the future.

live and learn........anytime you do anything to the cart put it in tow mode.....for some reason they are just really picky about that and its just sad that C.C. didn,t install a simple inline fuse somewhere to save the controller ..............they had to know as much testing as they do with the carts system that this is a pretty weak link..........................

plum quick has used controllers for a very reasonable $150. link
