2005 Electric IQ won't go
2005 Precedent IQ, electric. Just began intermittent problem, getting worse. Press pedal it may/may not go (same problem forward or reverse). One dealer ran Dx codes and got nothing. Another repair shop found 2 defaults in system, but still didn't fix it. It has new batteries, new key switch. Potentiometer is getting, and passing, power. All connections are good. Just before it finally takes off, you hear the click sound.

Re: 2005 Electric IQ won't go
welcome to BGW.............when it won,t go can you hear the soleniod click? if not that might be your problem the soleniod going bad.....neither of the dealers checked this? i don,t think this would come up as some sort of code but if your soleniod is clicking when it won,t run thats right where i would start.................................

Re: 2005 Electric IQ won't go
Thanks for your response. It only clicks right before it finally starts to go. Sometimes I floor the pedal and nothing may happen. After a couple minutes , it will eventually click then go. Does that sound like a solenoid problem?

Re: 2005 Electric IQ won't go
its possible the soleniod is going bad.......or the activation circuit for it but with the key on you should hear the soleniod click or when you press pedal.....in most cases when you don,t hear it that points to a problem with it and since its fine when it does click i,m not sure what else would cause that..........................

Re: 2005 Electric IQ won't go
The problem has been that I press the pedal and nothing happens. When it eventually clicks, the cart takes off. Do you think the delay in the clicking sound is the solenoid going bad?

Re: 2005 Electric IQ won't go
unless i,m reading it wrong you said sometimes you have to press pedal mulible times before soleniod clicks? if you mean you press pedal and just hold it there and than after a bit of time it clicks than Hmm .......that i,m not so certain about.......the easiest and cheapest thing to do would be to replace the soleniod then you would know for sure and worst case is you end up with a spare which isn,t a bad thing .............if this is like some sorta delayed reaction thats one i,ve never heard of but having to press the pedal more than once i have....................................

Yea, it sounds like a very strange problem. Thanks for your input. We'll try the solenoid and see what happens.
To answer your question, sometimes I press the pedal multiple times, some times we just hold it down for a couple minutes. |

Re: 2005 Electric IQ won't go
take the seat off and put a volt meter on the 2 thin solonoid wires...with the key on (switch in forward ) GENTLY press the acc pedal....(carefull the cart will move forward )
does the meter read but the solonoid does NOT CLICK...bad solonoid or no meter reading indicating bad MCOR micros switch |

New to the Buggie forum. I have this issue my self. Per you instructions I assume you are reffering to the 2 small connectios between the 2 main post? Do I put the volt meter on them with the wires connected or without. Which of them is for the positive and the negative, I assume it would be a given to just contact them both ways and answer that question my self but thought I would ask. |
