Distilled water vs. air conditioner condensation
Is it o.k to use the water from an ac unit to fill the battery.?
I have been told it's o.k? and just as good as distilled water.  |

While condensed water is pretty pure, it is not as pure as distilled water. Buy a gallon for a dollar once a year. Stimulate the economy!

What the batteries are trying to avoid are the heavy metals in most ground water. Cheap? Try collecting rainwater

From the Alliance for Water Efficiency:
"AC condensate should never be considered potable. The condensate is collected on surfaces that often contain lead solder, zinc, and other heavy metals. The condensate will absorb heavy metals as it collects on the AC surfaces. Condensate water is essentially distilled (pure) water when it condenses on the surfaces of the AC equipment; and as such it extremely absorbent of everything it comes in contact with. (Pure water is considered the universal solvent) Even if the water is sanitized, the metal contaminants remain in the water." |

Dude...I've got a dollar I can send you. You'll probly need $2 or $3 cause a gallon aint going to do it if they are very low. I just bought 10 for $10 at he grocery store. NO REASON what so ever not to use the right stuff....unless you just like wasting money. I guarantee it will cost you more in the long run by not using distilled water.
