Club Car DS Seat modification
I recently installed a rear seat kit for my 03 DS purchased from one of our sponsors. The kit changes the position of the front seatback moving it forward. I'm sure it's needed to allow room between the front and back riders. It does however make for an uncomfortable fit for me personally. I would like to modify the seat kit to allow the front seatback to move back. I rarely have riders on the back seat. Perhaps someone has made a modification to allow a quick adjustment to move the front seatback forward or aft to accomadate 2 positions if there is not a rider on the back. Anyone??

Re: Club Car DS Seat modification
I put new seats on mine and they were a bit thinner which helped and also changed out the steering wheel and gained some more room.

Nice looking steering wheel. How much additional room/clearance did you gain with just the steering wheel change from the stock one? Anyone else out there with a DS and a back seat. Did you not experience this issue when you added the back seat? Now I could understand if you bought a cart already fitted with one, you would have nothing to compare it to.

I gained a couple of inches because the factory wheel is deep dished, and
this one is mainly flat |

Re: Club Car DS Seat modification
Rose do you know where I can purchase a front seatback that is thinner for a CC 03 DS? I'm really surprised more forum members are not jumping in with suggestions on how they dealt with this issue. I really don't enjoy driving my cart now with this issue so i will need to make changes to gain back the lost seatback space.

I don't have a ds and would like to see picks of what you did. Close ups of mounting points would be cool. My precedent used all the stock mounts. Would you be able to use some plate stock or angle iron to move the whole assembly back 2 inchs or more. I'm pretty good at rigging things up but better to see in person tho. Just a thought.

Thanks for the response. I did not do anything except install the same back seat kit that most everybody else uses. We are all in the same boat I would think unless this forum population is mostly short people.
