Of course, they don't physically have to be removed or even disconnected. I didn't mean it so literal as if removing them to charge them was a requirement. Just meant that, after charging all of the batteries up individually, whether they stay put or not, put them under load and then check to see if one or more is bad. Sounds like the issue was the charger though.
