Brake/parking brake issues.
I just bought a 1984 club car and everytime I use the brake it sets the parking brake and about throws me out of the car. I see that both the parking brake pedal and regular brake pedal are attatched to the same shaft.

Re: Brake/parking brake issues.
welcome to BGW......yes they are, now when you hit the brake are you sure your not hitting the part of the pedal that sets the parking brake? other than that theres no reason for it to set as it has a lever type thing with teeth in it that catches and holds when you press the upper left part of the pedal.......you can take a look from under cart and watch whats going on as you have someone press pedal down..........it should be adjustable.....................

Re: Brake/parking brake issues.
Item 23 appears to be the spring that keeps the park brake portion of the pedal from dropping down, and engaging, when the regular brake pedal is depressed. See if it isn't broken....

Re: Brake/parking brake issues.
If you'll look at item 25 you'll see a rubber bumper. There's two under the car. The one you need to adjust isn't pictured here. It's pictured in the accel pedal diagram. You need to adjust your accel pedal height further down towards the floor. It's coming back too far when released and causing your park brake to bite under normal braking.

I installed parking brake kit and seems wrong, is item 18 pictured in correct direction? I have it installed in same direction and that is how the old came off but I imagine it would work better if flipped the other way. If so where can I find the little top hat press on nut/retainer that is one time use? |

Re: Brake/parking brake issues.
Update, I found a great thread. Called “brake paw thingy”. I would post a link but I am too new here to add links to the forum. I think it is an anti spam protocol.
