Default Help! Can't get speed code 4 with custom chassis.

I'm running the motor and controller from a 2005 Club Car Precedent IQ in a custom chassis, and would like to up-rate the controller to speed code 4.

Unfortunately, my local dealer, in Long Beach, can't/won't change the speed code without my taking a factory cart down there with the controller installed.

Does anyone know a shop in the Los Angeles area that might be a little more lenient?

I've considered doing it myself, with a rental handheld computer, using the "231 095 123" codes, but have never seen confirmation that those codes will actually work on any CC Precedent IQ.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Jesse.

Steve,

Thanks, but the stock motor is fine for my needs. I simply want the Curtis controller to operate at its full capacity.

And, if I have to start spending PlumQuick money, I might as well save up a little longer and get out of 48V entirely.

Best,

Jesse.

What about that speedy link thing? It does the same thing as the #4 code, and from what I have read it's easy to install!

My logic was that if you are going to spend $100+ on a code, why not just spend $225 on a new better motor.

Does that $225 include shipping. If not it must cost another $25 each way so are we talking $275? Still a good price.

Yeah, I myself have not seen that price anywhere for the PlumQuick. But, I haven't really been looking either.

If I can't get the speed code from a dealer, my next move will be to make a new sender magnet for the speed sensor with half the polarity swaps.

I have some rare earth magnets on their way, and I will machine up a new ring this weekend. All told, it will cost me less than $5.

I'll post the results if it actually works.

Just checked the PQ site. Shipping runs $27 to $43 depending on your location. Thats to you...so you could reasonably expect the cost to ship your core to be the same. You could also keep your old motor if they have a core to build and save shipping one way but no core is $100 extra. Oh and of course the Bandit is $225.

So 1/2 the swaps the motor will try and spin twice as fast.

i have a 2005 precident...

i made a SPEED FOOLER..which just reduces the pluses from the speed sensor and while it gave more top end speed it did not improve the torque.

then i bought a 500 amp alltrax controller....amazing results..with the controller set to limit amp to only 400 the cart with burn rubber on take off.

wife got pissed..kept on throwing her head back..had to slow down the throttle acceleration rate ..oh and by the way ...alltrax is computer programmable so you can play

the installation is a piece of cake ...alltrax give you a CONVERSION circuit board so all wiring is plug and play
