Default Conversion

I am planning to change out a burned up 36v motor on a 86cc with resistors with a 101785702 36-48v motor and a 225amp solid state controller. I have a vglide off of another cart and was wondering if there were any step by step instructions an how to do this? If not, are there any tips on how to complete this conversion. I have used this forum for a lot of good tips and hope someone has done this conversion before with sucess. roebro

Default Re: Conversion

I have done this conversion many times . My experience is I suggest a series 400 amp control and HD solenoid and potentiometer for throttle signal sender. It is pretty simple with the right stuff. and you can go 36 or 48 volts too.

You can do it with a v-glide and 275 control and 60a solenoid but you will be disappointed when it runs out slower and weaker than a stock resistor cart...... bottom line is when a resistor cart peddle is held to the floor you have a direct hookup with the battery pack..... when a 275 amp controller is held wide open you are still sucking amps thru a straw.

Thanks Scotty. I understand the slowness, but don't care that much about speed as we use this cart on the farm for harvesting. Besides the motor and the controller were given to me by someone who upgraded for more speed.
