Question Serial # Dilema

I am a newbie. I am posting this in the electric and gas forum. Read on and see why.
I bought an 07 Precedent electric (by the serial #) but it is a gas cart. I knew this before I bought it, but it was a good deal.
The serial # tag reads PQ07xx-xxxxxx. I was curious as to the year of the engine and trans so I started looking. On club car's FAQ site they say: "Note: If you cannot find a serial number plaque contact Club Car with the serial number from the transaxle, electric motor or gas engine. Utilizing that information we can assist you with identifying the serial number of your vehicle." I did just that, and they said I had to call the dealer and would be no help past that point. Apparently the previous statement is false. I called the dealer and he said there was no way to determine the year of the engine or trans by the serial #'s. All he told me, was it is a 97 or newer based on the fact that it has an FE290 engine. I would like to know how old the powertrain is in case I ever sell it, (doubtfull) and for my own satisfaction. I want to be able to disclose that info and be honest about it. Any help is appreciated.

Second question. Why is my serial # in the wrong place according to the identification diagrams. Mine is not on the right side, inside the glove box as pictured in the chart. Mine is on the right side, but low down, vertically, just above the floor mat. It is mounted on one of the black plastic pieces that is just to the right of where the vertical part of the floor mat ends. I could post a photo if I figure it out i I guess.

Can you see any evidence of a missing tag where it was supposed to have been placed? I find it hard to believe that CC put it in the wrong location and mislabeled it to boot . . . PR is Precedent Gas . . FYI - Some DS models have a "secondary" sticker behind the dash . . .

Steve,

I can't see any evidence that the sticker was moved, but I am sure it was. As far as I can find from research, there is only one sticker on a Precedent. I'm fairly confident that it was moved (for whatever reason) by whoever built this frankenstein.

I think I have resolved my own issue. Look at this same post in the Club Car Gas forum for the details.

Thanks everyone!

Just as a side note, if you open the first picture, (side view) you can see the relocated, white, serial # tag on the passenger side kick panel.

You've got a Precedent "i2" belly pan. All Precedents built after 2008 1/2 were considered "i2" models. The dash and serial number locations were the only difference exterior wise. They also came equipped with a new style battery bucket that would accommodate 8 Volt batteries. However, here's my theory on your particular vehicle....

It was an 07 Precedent electric that was probably damaged, therefore the belly pan had to be replaced. The dealer who fixed it replaced it with the new style belly pan. Anytime a belly pan is ordered, the dealer must remove the serial number sticker and send it to Club Car. They'll send them another sticker with the exact same number printed on it. This is their way of making sure there are not duplicate serial numbers on more than one car. At some point, probably at the same dealership it was converted to gasoline. This is VERY easy to do on a Precedent. Simply change the bucket to a gas bucket and bolt the snubber mount to the frame, throw on a new wire harness and roll the powertrain under it. They're doing it like crazy at the Club Car Service dept down the street from where I work, but those particular cars are getting reman serials.... If you'll look at the sticker on top of the metal shroud on the drivers side of the engine, you'll see a date code from when the engine was built.
