A few more questions plz....
1) I just installed a new pack of batteries in my '91 club (project cart). How long should the initial charge take?
2) I was under the assumption that the dial on the charger was a timer knob. Is this corrwct? Mine doesn't seem to move. I have also read that the charger won't shut off until batteries are fully charged. Is this correct? 3) What should the voltage measure coming out of the charger? (measuring from battery #1 to battery #6) Thanks for any and all help. |

Re: A few more questions plz....
A completely discharged pack could take 7-10 hours. Not sure which charger you have but there are 2 kinds of dial type chargers...one will auto shut off when its fully charged no matter how much time is left and the other dial type will charge until the timer is done. Any of these chargers should put out around 42 volts.

Re: A few more questions plz....
a new set of batteries will charge up to 17 hours the 1st few charges........you have to break them in right as when new they are only 70 to 75 % so the 1st 10 to 12 charge/discharge cycles are very important to the batteries preformance and lifespan, i suggest getting a charger that shuts off auto, you can ruin batts. pretty fast if you keep overcharging them,..........once you do break them in you,ll know it you,ll feel the difference...............very important to break them in right...........................
