Out With The Old & In With The New(cables)
After hours of cutting and soldering my new cables are complete. I used 1/0 neoprene welding cable, tinned ring terminals, silver solder and adhesive lined heat shrink for materials. I also upgraded the stock solenoid to a heavy duty while I was in there. There was a minimal improvement in performance but after about a half hour of riding the cables were nice and cool. The 4ga cables would have been warm by then and as heat is a loss of energy I am hoping to see more run time. It is money well spent as far as I am concerned and hopefully the last set I have to make for this cart.

They are very fat. I figured more is good since nothing ever seems to be enough. I thought I was done with the cart months ago but every week I find something else I want to do to it. Who knows, next may be a bigger motor or controller. I know my cables will be able to handle it. If the weather was better this weekend I may have had my rear speakers installed. I will not complain though, we desperately need the rain it just isn't ideal for painting.

I took a 3/8" x 4" bolt, cut the head off and threaded the other end. I slid the stud through the hole, installed a nut on each side followed by the ring and another nut.

I'm not trying to answer for anybody but, some people say that since only part of the load travels thru the obc, the obc can't tell how much recharging the batteries REALLY need when you use 2 cables from controller B- to Battery Main Neg...
