Default 2008 CC Precedent

What is the difference between the 2008 CC Precedent Champion and the '08 Precedent without this word on the end? I'm curious why it has this descriptive designation. Are the motors and amp controllers different or are they the same? It's my understanding that the Precedent has the Onboard Computer or OBC. Are there any problems with the four 12 volt battery setup and the OBC? I'm a "newbie" at this and so bear with me. Thanks for any replies.

The 4X12V system is not used by CC anymore. It doesn't run as long as the 6X8 system. 2008's came with 2 different battery boxes. 1 with a divider down the middle between the passanger and driver and the other box had no divider and the tow/run switch on the back wall. If it has the divider then it only holds 4-12's without a conversion. If it doesn't have the divider the you can put 6-8's when you need new batteries which is better than the 12's. You would only need a couple more battery wires and another hold down.

ColbynTx,,... I just got a 2008 and it has 4-+12 volt batts. It has the divider but the tow/run switch in on the panel at the rear on the sheild for the controller. Can the divider be removed? There are a lot of people here that have the +12 in their CC and don't seem to have any problems. Some date to 2005 CC. Also do you know how to program the CC controller. Is there software that will run on a laptop. I have seen the small attachment the dealer uses to make adjustment. Appreciate your help.

Never said the 4-12's were a problem, just won't run as long as the 6-8's but they won't run as long as 8-6's. I have a 4-12 08 precedent an it fits my uses just fine just not as good for fleet cars or people who run all day in their cart. If your controller and T/R is on the back wall then it shouldent be a devided battery well? Put a pic up because I would like to see.

I have the configuration with the controller and tow/run switch on a panel on the back wall in a 4X12V system and there is no divider. Eventually, once the current 2008 batteries are toast, I want to convert to 6-8s. What is involved in this conversion, are there any detailed instructions anywhere? I believe I may have read about the conversion on this forum somewhere. Thanks!!

Your answer is right there in my post you quoted! 1 more battery hold down and a couple more wires. Nothing else is needed. You will see with the 12's out where the 8's go. I would actually get a new set of 6X8 wires for the cart because it will be about time for a whole new set at the time of battery replacement.
