CC Modifications (Basic
I am going to presume that when you add a headlight/taillight package to a basic golf course cart, you will need to also install a voltage reducer. Is this correct? Another question: When installing a 3" lift kit, is there any consideration to a longer brake cable to accommodate the height? This is in reference to a 2008 CC Precedent. Thanks!

Re: CC Modifications (Basic
I have a 3" lift and I have the brake cable on hold, as it's not causing any real problems, except sensitive braking on some occasions. The fix, from what I have read here, is to put a right side (pass) brake cable on the left (driver) side.
I'm running the Precedent light kit off the #4 battery and the batteries lasted over 4 years. However, the # 4 battery was the 1st to go , so I'm going to install a converter when I upgrade my wires |

The converter prices vary from the $70 to $150's. Anytime you can draw from the entire battery pack equally you'll be ahead of the game.
If your lift is only 3" you might get by if you remove the cable support on the driver side cable, (should be around mid point,) and allow the cable to extend just a bit more. You can support it by using a heavy tie strap which will allow it to hang down a bit. If you don't have any pull or pulsation while braking after your 3" lift you'll be fine. But if you feel pulsation in the brakes or locking up on occasion, then get the passenger cable for the driver side. My lift is a 5" lift and I had to replace the cable. The possible fix above didn't work for me. |

IN GOES THE MONKEY WRENCH......
i am running my headlight on a single 12 volt battery. The light generates 400 lumens enough to light up the whole road..... but get this it only draws 1.4 amps ( has 12 led diodes) ....so when you consider a battery is rated 400-500 amps ..the power light draws amounts to about nothing... model # WL-cwhp10-s25 cost $70 from superbrightleds(dot)com worth every penny spent |
