Battery Draining Problem
2003 Club Car DS IQ 48volt Regen. I charged to 50.2 volts, all batteries read 8.3 or better. As I drive ( less than 1/4 mile ) voltage quickly drops to 39.3 volts ( pedal to the metal, lights on ). Lights dim (to almost out) and cart slows greatly. As soon as I let off, regen kicks in and takes voltage back to about 42.5 to 44.5 volts. I park the cart and check voltages of batteries
1 8.09 volts 2 8.46 volts 3 8.57 volts 4 8.44 volts 5 8.48 volts 6 6.80 volts total 48.8 volts So it looks like #1 and #6 are bad (or going) I was told batteries replaced 10/2010 but none of them are marked All batteries Exide GC 8V-110 and look new (For what that's worth) If I replace those 2 batteries do you think I'll be ok, or is this one of those items where you have to replace all? |

Re: Battery Draining Problem
Welcome to BGW!
Depending upon what you want out of the cart it should run okay with just #6 or 6 & 1 replaced. See if you can find a used battery. toss it in there and do not run your cart down until it almost stops you may smoke your controller or motor doing that! Connect the meter to the batteries and drive, you will see if you have any alarming voltage drops.... or better yet get an in dash DVM |

Re: Battery Draining Problem
Thank you for the very quick reply. Will try replacing #6 first and see how that helps out. And thanks for the welcome to the site. I've been watching this site for a while. Lot of knowledgeable cart fans
