Battery cable
I have some 4/0 battery jumpers what is everones opinion on me using these. I know they are overkill but there free

Do you mean 4g wire? 4/0 would be gigantic. What is the strand count on this cable? Is the insulation rated for acidic environment?

Yes they are 4/0 and they are for 250v battery banks for backup power

OK, 4/0 it is. Electrically it would be OK as long as the strand count is very high, but the cables would be a bear to bend, and good luck finding lugs that fit the battery terminals properly.

other than maybe being cumbersome to work with, the only downside to 4/0 is cost.

Actually they are already lugged. Looked at it the cart when I got home I think that it will be a p.i.t.a. So Im going to forget that idea.

you could try selling the cables on the diyelectriccar forum or something to fund some more reasonably sized cables.

I think I can probably get some 1/0 welding cable for free. I will have to cut and lug them.
