Default Light Kit

I have a headlight and taillight kit and horn installed on my cart. I have an 05 CC Precedent with the (4) 12v batteries. I see it's wired off the two pigtails on the battery pack (both front batteries). I assume there would have to be a converter or reducer somewhere but not sure where to look for it?

Here is where the light kit is connected to the battery.

Hmmm . . those two spots would provide 48V . . . did you follow the wires looking for the 48-12v reducer?

I didn't follow them yet. I will have to take a closer look but just wondered if there was a standard location that they would have installed one if I had one. I do know a dealer installed this kit.

I bet you have no converter, like my precedent. The wires are hooked up to the #4 battery (fr right) for 12 volts. Look under the center cover in batt compartment and follow the wires, it will make sense.

I just a bought a 48-12 volt converter ($59.00). It's only 10 amps and if it works for the lights, I'll post pics. If it's good, I'll get a 2nd one for other 12v stuff!

Yeah, I just got new batts and don't want to run lights, until the converter is hooked up. My batts are testing the exact voltage on each battery, I want to keep it that way I think I was overcharging batteries 2-4, due to #1 being drained more because of lights. They did last over 4 years, though

I think the years with only the 4X12 battery bucket were made to plug-n-play the CC light kit? Tahoedawg had told me this once before. He said there is a place up front in the wire harness that it just plugs into. Not sure which kit you have but David will be along to set it streight.

That's how mine works. For now, until my converter is set up

Mine must be as well. I think I now remember reading that the light kit plugs into a factory harness but not sure if the horn does. So the neg/pos pigtails off the batteries I see must feed into something somewhere to give the wiring harness 12v?

I'm pretty sure mine gets pos from batt 1 and neg from the harness somewhere for 12 volts.

Looking at mine I agree. It also must draw off the whole pack as well?

Negative, it does not draw off the whole pack (48V). 48V will kill your lights in a nano second. If you have no converter anywhere, then you are getting 12 v from battery 4 and neg from the harness.

Did you check the entire cart for a converter?

Check the volts in batt 4, then turn on lights and check..
