up graded the solenoid and motor controller...48volt and 500 amp.....I can identify where the resistor is placed on the solenoid (from big nut to big nut), but where does the diode go?

Got it running yet? Results? You did get 4 or 2 ga wires also, right?

Re: 2006 club car precedent
yes...I got 4g wire but made the mistake of listening to someone that said it was a precident model, when in fact it is a ds....now I have to find out if the solenoid and motor controller along with the diode and resistor need to be exchanged....what is your impression

Re: 2006 club car precedent
If the controler and you got was for a shunt CC (F/R rocker switch), then it should be fine. The solenoid won't know the difference. They should both have the 5k-0 MCOR. How can yo get a DS and Precedent confused? They look night and day different.

Re: 2006 club car precedent
Got them confused cause it was a used cart and I listened to my golfing brotherinlaw.....it wasn't until I got the controller ordered when I looked at the website and saw the president had the bumper guard all the way around the body....my cart does have a f/r toggle switch. The hd solenoid and diode/resistor doesn't need to switch out too does it?

Re: 2006 club car precedent
It should all be the same as far as controller, solenoid, resistor & diod. Post your carts full serial # and we can tell you exactally what you have. Should be in the passanger side glove box area. What controller did you order?

Re: 2006 club car precedent
Your cart is a 48V IQ system. The parts your ordered for a Precedent will all be the same in this case. You got lucky! You should also be able to get the battery cables to work. Remember, anytime you remove a cable from the motor, use 2 wrenches! You dont want to spin that stud! My craftsman 9/16's wouldn't fit under the lug so I bought a cheap 9/16 from northern tools and put it on a grinder until it fit.
