We are lucky it failed on the street, where a guy driving by had a fire extinguisher. If it was on one of our wooded and paved trails that go through the neighborhoods it would burnt to the ground.

So true. Having the fuse for protection in a sense didn't help in any way. Even though it blew, the fire was already going

I insured mine as well. Mine is insured for any mishap at home or theft. My coverage does cover off my property only too and from and on a golf course.

Our entire city has over 12000 golf carts, insurance for golf cart fires, and wrecks is common place here. Fire department gets 1-2 golf cart fires a month.

How true, as the cart population grows, so do the incidents. Fire is not their biggest problem with carts, they have had over 70 accidents and over 250 DUI's in the last 18 months.

Yup, I have a buddy that works in the ER, he said Golf Cart accidents far out number ATV accidents among children and adults now! I guess too many think "it's just a golf cart...what could go wrong?"

Sucks to see that nice cart caught on fire. Keep us all posted.
