Default Club Car brakes go out every 4 months

I've had the brakes on my CC replaced twice this year. Both times the brakes start squeaking, then eventually a metallic grinding sound, then drum damage. Anyone have an idea of what the underlying problem may be?

Do you have a lift kit? Are the brakes dragging?

Sorry, no don't have a lift kit. I've actually had two different places "fix" the brakes and they've ended up the same way both times....I thought by backing up and hitting the brakes, they "self adjust"...am I wrong?

Wow... you've either got the wrong people fixing your brakes or you're REALLY REALLY using the heck out of it.

Could be a little of both .... cart has gotten about a round a day this year, but still, no more than a rental cart and they don't go through brakes like this....btw, checked other sites and need to make sure that I say I have and '06 CC, so the brakes are supposed to be self adjusting

With the cart on flat surface and the tow/run switch is Tow, you should be able to move the cart very easily with little effort with one hand. If you can't and you have to put some weight into it then your brakes are most like dragging.

I find more than a few Club cars with overactive self adjusters. On one of these carts I had adjusted them almost weekly due to complaints of skidding.... backing them off, backing them off... finally put new adjusters in and the problem stopped.
tried it with a couple others and had the same results. It's not text book but, that's what I'm finding.
