2003 precedent iq shuts down
If the cart sits for a few days you can only go for a few feet. If you wait a while it will go again but farther. the more you use it the better it gets. 48v system batteries test good with hydometer. any tips? p/s i can always hear the pedal switch.

check the serial number... No such thing as a 2003 Precedent... If it's a DS car I may have the answer for you...

Re: 2003 precedent iq shuts down
you need to do more than test batteries with hydrometer.....get a voltage meter and check voltage and also load test the batteries......it may just be a bad battery or a set that needs replaced................................

Re: 2003 precedent iq shuts down
pq0327 serial# makes it a 2003 precident iq right? first year for the precident? So I left the charger on for over a day (it took that long to charge)and with the batteries still hooked up they all had 12.85 volts. then the car worked fine that night. Earlier this year i thought the batteries were done because they took too long to charge. turns out they were low on water. I filled them with distilled water, they charged much quicker and lasted longer. I also used a battery tester from midtronics (bought from interstate) to test, this was not a battery load tester like the old vat 40's, just a resistance test and they tested ok then. so did I test right with the tester (batteries still hooked up) or do I need to retest with batteries unhooked? what is the life expectancy of the batteries and where to buy replacements?

No, you don't need to unhook the batteries to check each one.

Yes, PQ03 is a 2003 Precedent.... Congrats you've got a Proto-type.

Re: 2003 precedent iq shuts down
So everything was working fine since leaving the charger on all the time. yesterday I went to use it and it would not move. The pedal switch clicks and sometimes a click from the soleniod area. Any good diagnostic procedures would be a great help. I checked the battery voltage on all 4 batteries was 13volts+.
