The seat still goes right back into place with the body off...it clips in the same spot up front and folds back to its normal position. The body is only cosmetic...

The 8 and 10 mm bolts hold the roof struts and seat back down. . . once they are removed you can lift up the entire structure 1/2 in or so needed to unclip the body...

It`s all painted and back together now ...I will try and get some pics of the bolts , but if you go out and look at yours it`s pretty easy to figure out which ones need come off...there are no hidden ones which is what i was concerned about.

Red,,.. I think I finally get it. Your pictures are really worth a 1000 words. Now all you have to do is tell me what process you used to clean the body and did you prime it and then paint it. If you can tell me the chemical for cleaning and the paint type you used and your painting process I will really be set. I have a really good compressor and several body guns.

Well I do paint and bodywork for a living , but was/am still somewhat concerned about painting the bare plastic body. I used a grey scuffpad and alcohol to prep/de grease the body , then used an adhesion promoter we use on new raw plastic bumpers , then paint and clear....only time will tell if it works or not!

Red,...WOW,... I don't anything like what you are talking about. I guess you have to run a body shop. Any suggestions for paint that normal people can buy over the counter,.. and degreesers.

It`s nothing special...plain old alcohol ...the scuff pads come in different colors...red and grey are the most common with grey being less aggressive. You can get them at any pain supply store or auto parts store too if I had to guess.

Using them together cleans the wax or armour all , and mold release agents off of the plastic...it`s probably the most important step.

There are many different types of adhesion promoters out there , they are also available at either place...it is suppose to help make the plastic sticky so the paint sticks better.

I used a basecoat/clearcoat on mine , but you can use spray cans if you wanted to.
